WHAT IS A NINTENDO GIRL?

<sub>It is a female character that appeared in a series of games owned by Nintendo and/or its subsidiary companies (i.e.: HAL Laboratories, Intelligent Systems). It usually includes (but is not limited to) series like Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Kirby and Pokémon.

Female characters appearing in series created by third-party developers are not eligible to be featured on #Nintendo-Girls (i.e.: Rare, Square-Enix, Sega), no matter if their games were released on a Nintendo console or not.</sub>

SUBMISSION RULES

<sub>Our submission system is based on votes by the admins of this group. Not all users are online at the same time, so expect a few hours before your submissions get in.
Your submissions are limited to one artwork per day and/or one work of literature per week.
Please keep it to your best works. If we judge your work and it doesn't meet our quality standards, it will not be accepted.
Please take care to submit your submission to the correct folder (The "Submit to" option next the group name you're submitting your deviation to).  Artwork that contains one Nintendo girl, regardless of side characters, goes in her respective folder. Artwork that contains more than one Nintendo girl goes into the "Group Pictures" folder.
The folders for mature artwork, comics and OCs override the rules for the "Group Pictures" folder.
Everything submitted to the wrong folder will be rejected.
The administrators have the final word. If your submission gets rejected, do not submit it again.
When we notice that you keep submitting previously rejected deviations in an attempt to force it through the submission process, we WILL sanction you with a ban.

If the deviation you have submitted is considered high quality by the staff, it will be included in the Featured folder, reserved for the best artwork out there.

We accept these types of media:


Drawings (Fanart): traditional/digital illustrations, group pictures, comic pages;
Literature (Fanfiction): one-shots, multi-chapters, poems, proses;
Photography: crafts and cosplay.</sub>



CONTRIBUTING ART
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

<sub>We will accept:


General art: any artwork or work of literature, aimed at all audiences, that contains at least one Nintendo girl as a central character. This is, after all, the main focus of this group.
Mature art: includes every mature subject matter, except for fetishes. Please note that distasteful artwork, material that borderlines pornography and submissions that are not properly labelled as "Mature content" will be turned down.
Fan characters: they're tolerated but not encouraged. Please either mention or make it clear that it is Nintendo inspired, or else we might decline it for lack of relevance. Please note that only three submissions for the same fan character are allowed in (total).


We will decline:



Half-assed artwork: while we value the effort given to a drawing, if it looks like an artwork was done in 5 minutes, we will turn it down.
Hard-to-read literature: work of literature that has bad spelling/grammar (it includes chatspeak), punctuation, and paragraph spacing.
Official works/Edits/Tracing: just plain anything not done by the deviant who posted the artwork to DeviantART. Things such as official art (either edited or not), traced pictures, game sprites, game/cartoon screenshots, and drawings making heavy use of bases will be turned down instantly.
Fetish art: no matter if it falls into mature content territory or not. If you don't know what a fetish is, then you probably don't have to worry about it.
Pokémon: not the Pokémon franchise in itself, rather the Pokémon non-human characters. 649 Pokémon is too much for us to handle, so we suggest you to submit your stuff to the proper groups instead. Pokémon human characters, however, are welcomed.
Other franchises: In short, anything not originating from Nintendo. Please refer to the very first point of this rules list for more details.
Hateful art: Artwork or literature that is intended to degrade Nintendo girls and/or their fans.

Hello members of #Nintendo-Girls! I hope all is well with you all. Today we have a few announcements to make.

Help wanted

As you may or may not have noticed, the flow of deviations being accepted into the group has diminished a little over the course of the last few months. Fact is, we've had a few admins and contributors step down and leave their position within the group, which has direct repercussions on the flow of deviations as we barely have enough voters for deviation approval.


So to solve this problem, we are opening two Contributor positions in the group. To be a contributor, you need to:

Be a Nintendo fan (obviously), knowing your Nintendo stuff is important
Visit DeviantART frequently, at least once a day or every two days at least
Have good artistic judgement and an adequate grammar (since you vote on both illustrations and literature)
Be able to stick to the submission rules when voting (i.e.: know about wrong folders, mature art, etc.)
Having past experiences as a contributor/co-founder/founder in another group is a plus, but not mandatory.

Princesses collab

There are a few big-scale, Nintendo girls-related collabs going on right on in the DeviantART community:
is currently holding a Peach collab. The goal is to have a lot of members, drawing their own original depiction of the pink princess, on a transparent background. Deadline is on March 25th 2012, so you've got plenty of time! Visit her journal for more information: [link]
